Post Office Closure
On 15th January 2008 the Post Office announced its intention to close Govilon Post Office. The loss of the post office within the village will be a huge blow to the community of Govilon.
This section gives details of the Post Office's proposals, and how you can enter into the debate ahead of the end of the consulation in February 2008.
Message from County Councillor, Verona Nelmes
I have distributed petition forms to oppose the closure of the Post Office, in the Village Shop, Bridgend Inn, The Lion Inn, Church and Chapel.
I shall obtain a campaign pack from Help the Aged and will distribute this to appropriate organisations within the village. It will also be helpful if people write opposing the closure. This is an addition to the petition. The Post Office has provided a service to the village for over 150 years, its up to the residents of Govion to fight to save the post office for future generations.
My email is veronanelmes@monmouthshire.gov.uk and I can forward the Help the Aged pack.
